Mana: a source of both personal and collective strength, pride and identity

Charity Number 1211147

We are driven by the stark reality that disabled individuals face significant challenges in achieving wellbeing.
There are around 16 million disabled people in the UK, representing approximately 24% of the population. Disabled people are the largest minority group in the world.
However, disabled people have three times more unmet needs than non-disabled people and are more likely to experience health inequalities compared to the general population.
We want this to change.
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. In fact, it's the only thing that ever has"
- Margaret Mead

We aim to empower individuals with disabilities, impairments or long-term health conditions and their caregivers to enhance their quality of life through tailored support, resources and opportunities.
All too often, disabled individuals encounter inequities in wellbeing and opportunity. At Mana, we are working to change that narrative by:
-
Delivering innovative services tailored to the unique needs of disabled individuals.
-
Advocating for systemic change to dismantle barriers to accessibility and opportunity.
-
Amplifying the voices of disabled people, ensuring their experiences and perspectives shape everything we do.
Nothing about us without us?
At Mana, we believe in nothing without us at all.
What do we do?
Our holistic approach focuses on supporting physical, emotional, social and financial wellbeing to help empower disabled individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives.
